End of an Era: Legends James Anderson

James Michael Anderson is known as James Anderson England’s first bowler. James Michael Anderson was born on July 30, 1982. James Anderson represents both the England and Wales cricket team as well as Lancashire. Today, 11 May 2024 James Anderson announced his retirement. This summer’s first test match of England in Lords will be his last test match in cricket.

James Anderson is acclaimed as one of the finest bowlers ever to grace the sport. James Anderson made his Test Match debut in 2003 against Zimbabwe in Lords. He played for England’s One-Day International (ODI) team between 2002 and 2015 and played for England’s Twenty20 International (T20) team between 2007 and 2009. He currently holds the record for the highest number of wickets taken by a pace bowler in Test cricket history, with a tally of 700 wickets as of March 9, 2024. Anderson played a pivotal role in England’s triumph at the 2010 ICC World Twenty 20. As of today, James Anderson’s height wicket-taker list ranked 3rd just behind Australian Shane Warne and Sri Lankan great Muttiah Muralitharan.
