India, the two-time champions of the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy (2002 and 2013), have revealed their 15-player squad for the upcoming edition of the tournament. The team will be led by Rohit Sharma, aiming to clinch a third title.
Star pacer Jasprit Bumrah, who recently missed part of the Sydney Test due to injury, has made the squad. Chief selector Ajit Agarkar emphasized that Bumrah’s fitness will be closely monitored in the build-up to the tournament.
The batting lineup includes young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal, who joins seasoned players like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Shubman Gill at the top order. The middle-order features experienced campaigners KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, and Rishabh Pant.
Hardik Pandya, who last played an ODI during the 2023 Men’s Cricket World Cup, is the lone pace-bowling all-rounder in the squad. The spin-bowling all-rounder options include Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, and Washington Sundar, with left-arm spinner Kuldeep Yadav returning from an injury layoff.
The pace attack is strengthened by Mohammad Shami and Arshdeep Singh, alongside Bumrah and all-rounder Hardik.
India will enter the tournament with a well-balanced squad, blending youth and experience, aiming to secure another Champions Trophy victory. For more information.
