Sri Lankan Squad for the ICC Men’s T20 WC 2024

2012 runner-up and 2014 T20 champions Sri Lanka reveal the squad for the next T20 World Cup hosted by WI & USA. Sri Lanka are placed in Group D alongside South Africa, Bangladesh, Netherlands and Nepal. They begin their T20 World Cup campaign on 3 June against South Africa in New York.

Wanindu Hasaranga was named the captain of Sri Lanka and will lead the team in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024. Charith Asalanka has been named as his deputy and Kusal Mendis will be the wicket-keeper of the side along with his batting. Angelo Mathews’s pick was a little bit surprised because of his off-form but Sri Lanka wants his experience on the big stage. 

A variety of all-rounders are in the squad balancing the team combination. Skipper himself along with Angelo Mathews, Dasun Sanaka, Dhananjaya De Silva. Pace bowler Matheesha Pathirana can be the leader of the bowling side. Followed by the spinner like Maheesh Theekshana.
